Only Dancing Can Stop the Pain: The Heart Rate, Weight, and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Data from 2012-2015 of my Facebook Art-Brain-Project

“Throughout history, societies have existed with far less coercion than ours, and while these societies have had far less consumer goods and what modernity calls “efficiency,” they also have had far less mental illness. This reality has been buried, not surprisingly, by uncritical champions of modernity and mainstream psychiatry. Coercion—the use of physical, legal, chemical, psychological, financial, and other forces to gain compliance—is intrinsic to our society’s employment, schooling, and parenting. However, coercion results in fear and resentment, which are fuels for miserable marriages, unhappy families, and what we today call mental illness.”

Societies with little coercion have less mental illness as I read here.  Free expression of dreams and hopes on my Facebook Art-Brain-Philosophy project across social media platforms and in the cloud is a really fast way to come up with ideas.  A high-throughtput brainstorming methodology.  I had awesome dreams of joining a union of hearts, men and women. The image of being a Bektashi dervish in the West.  While Baha’i formally, I do not know if I fully submit to the ecclesiastical structure of the institutional Baha’i faith just yet.  It would be interesting to create a test describing the use of modern technology to encourage people to adopt the mystical path, the path of true healing from mental illness.  I have met men who have been cured of schizophrenia with their own will and by embracing higher aspects of life.  Releasing anger slowly and honestly, and finding the truth of love.  Burning off anger and revealing the diamond in the coal.  On this post, I provide the sequencing data from two genetic tests that may help others find some insight into my Mind.  Download the full results below.  I wonder if this meeting can be a place to meet people to help develop the idea further.

Some random thoughts last night.

“Only dancing can stop the pain,”

Says the Turk in the rain,

With the Syrian brother,

Together with their sisters,

They move across the floor,

Hearts embrace they open a door,

Tonight at class she looked me in the eyes,

The pain was seen, no disguise,

Honest and truthful,

I was wrong about this tango dance,

It can be a Zen-like trance,

…or one can take another stance,

And approach it like a Sufi,

The symbiotic dervish pair,

Brother and sister,

Yin and Yang,

Allah’s balance and peace.

I had a series of dreams last night that I posted to Facebook about in reference to the Syrian Civil War and education.  I have some Facebook friends in Damascus who I have Skyped with and heard the sounds of the war first hand, automatic gunfire and artillery in 2013.  I wrote a blog post last year about an idea.  I was working with my Turkish cousin via Facebook on the construction of a video game.  I saw that he was obsessed with Smite.  He progressively was learning about Unity, Maya, and Blender.  I made a quick game with him where I put a protein structure into Angry Bots in Unity.  I was thinking, “Would it not be cool to organically deprogram all youth obsessed with Call of Duty, Halo, etc. to love science and the humanities?”  Males in particular love first person shooters, I have Doom3D on my Macintosh, and the genre has made billions of dollars.  Maybe a subtle change can create something that can enlighten?  A laboratory game?

I will construct a Situation as the first 6 hour hackathon sponsored by The Situationist International @ The University of Minnesota. We will crowdsource the assembly of a protein kinase video game to raise money for the children in Damascus and underneath the bombers. I think about a Syrian-Turkish-American video game on world peace crowd-sourced by Middle Easterners and others who love peace and freedom. A love of continental philosophy also helps. The Society of the Spectacle, The Question Concerning Technology, etc. Who has bandwidth and silicon to donate? All diligent members of the collective will get an equal cut off the profits from the game to pay off debts to become free. All other money will be sent to the International Rescue Committee.

In language love can be found.  It can be studied computationally via LIWC.  It would be interesting to incorporate Google Translate into the art (e.g.):

“a = “I wonder if we can help in the assembly of a protein kinase video game to raise money for the children in Damascus and underneath the bombers? What do you think about a Syrian-Turkish-American video game on world peace crowd-sourced by Middle Easterners?”

This hyperrreal Situation is free for students.  We will use Autodesk software free for educational use (download here).

About kayaerbil

I am a Berkeley educated chemistry Ph.D. who is moving into the area of working on developing appropriate technology for communities that are subjected to socio-economic oppression. The goal is to use simple and effective designs to empower people to live better lives. Currently, I am working with Native Americans on Pine Ridge, the Lakota reservation in South Dakota. I am working with a Native owned and run solar energy company. We are currently working on building a compressed earth block (CEB) house that showcases many of the technologies that the company has developed. The CEB house is made of locally derived resources, earth from the reservation. The blocks are naturally thermally insulating, keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Eventually, a solar air heater and photovoltaic panels will be installed into the house to power the home and keep it warm, while preserving the house off the grid. A side project while in Pine Ridge is a solar computer. I hope to learn about blockchain encryption software for building microgrids. In addition, it is an immediate interest of mine to involve local youth in technology education.
