A discussion with my mother about Zen, God, mind, and thoughts.
Key insights today were: serenity can be attained without medicine if I adhere to a flexible but firm practice of prayer and meditation; peace in the world and in my own heart can be derived from a unity of thought and action, singular devotion to a holistic approach to a healthy life for the individual and the planet; and love for all beings-in-the-world regardless of any quality or factor. I am a Sufi at heart, a Muslim who embraces the Truth in all the world’s religious traditions equally. I am interested in growing this method of living in my thirties. Inshallah, this growth will get me to the age of forty.
The Sage is occupied with the unspoken and acts without effort.
- Teaching without verbosity,
- producing without possessing,
- creating without regard to result,
- claiming nothing,
- the Sage has nothing to lose.
